On the night of September 7-8, 2024, there was a fire that destroyed the striking thatched roof and the interior of the popular excursion destination.
\nThe sight saddens us all. It is now a desolate place that should quickly become a center of attraction again.<\/p>\n
The teahouse in the English Garden is owned by the district authority.
\nWe are calling on those responsible to initiate measures for its rapid reconstruction.
\nThe teahouse with its caf\u00e9, beer garden and restaurant, which is very popular with Berliners and tourists, should soon become an attractive destination again. The open-air concert series in summer was particularly well known beyond the city and attracted many visitors from other districts.<\/p>\n
In the heart of Berlin, the teahouse in the English Garden was a unique place for many to relax and linger.
\nWe, the B\u00fcrgerverein Hansaviertel e.V., the residents, Berliners and guests of the historic teahouse are calling on the district office to implement the reconstruction without delay. We propose that accelerated procedures be applied, such as the unbureaucratic awarding of construction contracts.<\/p>\n
